Privacy Policy

When you use Shoddy, we collect the following:

• Content you create — task names and output text you enter during a session. This is stored on our servers to power the product experience.
• Usage data — how you navigate and interact with Shoddy, including pages visited, features used, and session duration. This is collected through Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity.
• Session recordings — Microsoft Clarity records mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior to help us understand how people use Shoddy. We have enabled content masking in Clarity so that any text you type is never captured or stored by this tool.

We do not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information unless you contact us directly.

We use the data we collect to:

• Understand how Shoddy is being used and improve the product
• Identify usability issues and fix bugs
• Make informed decisions about future features

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.

Shoddy uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — data storage and backend infrastructure. https://supabase.com/privacy
• Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics. https://policies.google.com/privacy
• Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps. https://privacy.microsoft.com

Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data. If you are located in the EU or EEA, you will be asked to consent to non-essential cookies before tracking begins.

Content you create in Shoddy is retained for a maximum of [30 or 90] days, after which it is automatically deleted from our servers.

Shoddy is an evolving product. If we introduce paid features or advertising in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
